S. A. Caddell is a fantasy author whose works draw heavily on Celtic and British folklore. Her debut novel, The Mage's Sanctuary (2024), captivated readers with its blend of magic, mystery and resilient characters. With a lifelong passion for storytelling, Caddell creates books that reflect her devotion to the written word and her desire to connect with readers through memorable characters.

A self-proclaimed bookworm, Caddell has always found solace in stories, whether reading on the sofa or writing in the quiet moments of winter. Her love of mythology and history inspires her work, and she often spends her free time watching documentaries about Celtic legends, 18th century life, or hilarious cat videos.

"While writing The Mage's Sanctuary, I felt the connection on a much deeper level," she said, citing the immersive world-building of authors such as Juliet Marillier and Trudi Canavan as key influences.

The Mage's Sanctuary follows Bryanna Nicholls, a determined young woman who seeks revenge against the Brotherhood of Sìorruidh for the murder of her cousin. Set in a world steeped in myth, the story unfolds in her Aunt Obelia's healing sanctuary, where Bryanna encounters unexpected opposition to her quest. The novel combines epic adventure, simmering romance and the perils of loyalty in a richly imagined setting.

S. A. Caddell describes her stories as "a labour of love" and hopes that her readers will find the same solace in her work as she did in creating it.
