Independence: An Alternative History

What if the Confederates won the Battle of Gettysburg and successfully seceded, leaving the North intact with 11 fewer states? What might have been the progression of the country in the next 130 years? This is a creative effort to answer those questions. Much would be the same, but much would be potentially different.
