Sounds like a lie

Слухати в додатку
In her small, Southern town, Angel-Louise wasn't supposed to fall in love with him. Her family, her age, her religion, and her race ruled against her having anything to do with a man who would never be accepted into her life by others. But she couldn't prevent it – even when she knew others would consider it wrong, and even as it went against everything she'd ever been taught, she still fell for him.

She is just another high school teenager with an active imagination and a heart that is filled with love. Feeling constrained by the narrow limits and bigotry of the odd characters that surround her and make up her world, she finds someone to connect with and who understands who she is, her passions and her desire for a wider meaning in her life.

The impossible friendship she forms with an older man of another race grows from simple shared beliefs and passions, to friendship, to romance, to love, to romance, and ultimately into a sexual relationship.

But many are not ready to accept an interracial romance that challenges the taboos of race and age. The relationship disturbs the equilibrium that the small Southern town prides itself upon and leads, ultimately, to a tragic and violent confrontation between the private desires of Angel-Louise and the inflexible and shocking prejudices which lurk beneath the surface.

This is Angel-Louise's own story, told in her own voice. It might sound like a lie, but it's really the truth.
