Elizabeth Barlow Rogers

A longtime resident of New York City, Elizabeth Barlow Rogers is the author of seven books on landscape-design history and the cultural meaning of place. In 1979 she became the first person to hold the title Central Park Administrator, and in 1980 she founded the Central Park Conservancy. In 2005 she established the Foundation for Landscape Studies, a donor-supported organization that publishes the journal Site/Lines and an imprint series of books on landscape-related subjects. Over the years she has received numerous awards for her work as a writer and landscape preservationist.
