The original poem “Morien” is a 13th-century Arthurian romance in Middle Dutch. The legend tells about the adventures of Morien, the Moorish son of Aglovale, one of King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table. This work offers a modern interpretation of the poem by an English independent scholar, medievalist, and folklorist, working mainly on medieval Arthurian texts, Jessie Weston.
