The reaction of staff to the GM is the ultimate litmus test of how well a hotel is run. The same goes for any of our managers in any division of the company. If associates are happy to see the boss, I know that he or she is a great manager. Only someone who spends much of the day strolling the hallways or property talking to associates and taking their concerns to heart earns a genuinely friendly greeting.
