Voice in the Wind

“I don’t believe the purpose of life is to be happy. It’s to serve. It’s to be useful.”

God was all-seeing, all-powerful, all-present, and her father had always assured her that all things worked toward God’s good purpose.

But the eyes of the Lord are watching over those who fear him,who rely upon his steady love.

"He will keep them from death " Psalm 33:18

Oh, Jesus, be with me now. Stand by me and give me your strength that I might glorify you,"

"No," Hadassah said gently. "The Lord has not forsaken us.. Never doubt in the darkness what God has given us in the light. The Lord is with us. He is here now. He will never leave us."

"Whatever happens is to his good purpose for his glory. I'm not afraid."

"I may not know the answers, but God does."

"I gave up what I can't keep for something I can never lose."

Her eyes glistened with tears. "Most of all, I was afraid that when the time came and I was tested, I wouldn't have the courage to say the truth. And then the Lord would turn his face from me."

She spread her hands. "And then it happened, the " ery thing I feared most... I was stood before people who hated me, people who refused to believe, and I was given a choice: recant or die. And the cry came from within my soul, a cry the Lord gave me through his grace. I chose God."

Tears ran down her cheeks, but her eyes were shining. "And the most amazing, miraculous thing happened tO me in that moment, Atretes. Even as I was speaking the words, proclaiming Jesus is the Christ, my fear fell away. The weight of it was gone as though it had never been."

"I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God."
